Description

These bananas are super delicious and filling! They are very different from the bananas you will find in your local grocery store. When ripe, they are quite sweet and have a creamy texture that is heavenly!

Nam Wah bananas are high in magnesium, potassium, and folate. They are a great source of vitamin A and fiber, and also contain vitamin B6, manganese, riboflavin, niacin and iron as well as a small amount of protein. Nam Wah bananas also contain beneficial probiotics that are known to help alleviate digestive issues.

How To Know When Nam Wah Bananas Are Ripe:

Your bananas will arrive unripe and fully green. Please do not try them right away! These bananas must be eaten ripe! There are two ways to tell if they are ripe. They must be fully yellow with some brown spots and they must peel silently. If there is NO SOUND at all when peeling the banana, then you know it is ripe and ready to eat.

If eaten before ripe, they will not taste sweet and will leave a very dry feeling in your mouth. This is because when unripe the starch has not yet converted into usable sugar (energy) for the body. Nature has an incredible way of keeping us extremely healthy. Fruit will never taste amazing until it is fully ripe and ready to eat!

How To Eat Nam Wah Bananas:

Eat them on their own, cut up and and put into cereal or oatmeal, dehydrate to make them into a chewy snack, or freeze for smoothies or banana ice cream

We love to freeze these bananas and make smoothies with them or nice cream (banana ice cream! yummm!) Simply peel and cut up bananas and place them into the freezer in a ziplock bag or container. Freeze for at least 24 hour. Once frozen, blend with any fruit and nut milk of your choice for a delicious smoothie. Add a little nut milk to a high speed blender to make the healthiest ice cream on earth! We LOVE to combine bananas, fresh cacao, hemp seeds and peppermint oil with a little water to make raw vegan mint chip ice cream! We also LOVE to combine frozen bananas, frozen or fresh mamey sapote and a tiny bit of coconut milk to make mamey banana nice cream. This is a combo you’ve got to try!
